Steve Lusk

Stevie has been with Donny at Heavy Duty for over 28 years now. He’s the guy that pulls rabbits out of the hat when everyone else has given up.
A country boy who dotes on his family, he spends his spare time computer programming and scuba diving. At Heavy Duty, which is his second home, Steve solves mechanical problems day in and day out.
A competent wrench when he joined the Heavy Duty Team in 1979, Steve absorbed all Donny had to teach and then moved forward onto a level rarely seen in this industry. Donny is constantly seeking advice from Steve as they consult on their many projects.
A shy person, Steve likes it out back away from the hubbub. Nothing at work turns him on more than some real complicated wiring job involving micro switches and he just loves the ever-more complex engine management fuel injection spark maps.
While Steve is on the top tier for tuning modern spark map ignitions, he is equally adept at rebuilding engines for restoring old Flatheads, Knucks and Pans.
Steve’s high performance work on Shovels Evos and Twin Cams is second to none.
How many mechanics are as proficient on an antique Flathead engine as doing some of the best go-fast on brand new Twin Cams and all that goes between?
With the thousands of hours he and Donny have spent studying porting and polishing mathematically and on Flow Benches, Donny applies the physics and Stevie operates the grinders and the polishers integrating their combined skills into one.
Steve is the last guy to take credit for his work preferring to let his colleagues share the accolades of a job well done
